Collection: Volker's: Portraits of a Horse

Emil Volker's was a famed German painter born in 1831 in what was the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg.  Most of his works were oil on canvas, and subjects were often the prized horses of his partons.  His portraits for Wilhelm I and Otto von Bismark inspired countless future works.  His sons Fritz and Karl Volker's also became famed horse portraitists.
